You might have heard them called banded shades or Allure shades. These shades offer both privacy and light control. There are alternating bands of fabric that are sheer and solid. Lower the shades entirely and have the light gently filter through the window into the room. Or you could raise the shades totally and hide them from view. A fabric-wrapped valance frames the top of the shades to give them a polished look. You can also adjust your level of privacy as you adjust the shades up and down.
